Goal of the Class
The goal of this class is to help each student develop their own mathematical and problem-solving mind. During the course of the year, the students will learn the skills to solve problems in logical and creative ways. In order to succeed in this class, you will need to cooperate, participate and have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!! Of course, there may be some obstacles hard to overcome, but we will always be here to help! Feel free to contact us via email and visit the teacher page for updates and information!
Recommended Supplies for Class:
Classroom Expectations:
Listen during instruction
Class time should not be interrupted. The first couple minutes of class is reserved for preparing for the lessons (getting organized, sharpening pencils or obtaining supplies) and completing your Do-Now. Class Time is reserved for exploring and learning concepts. During instruction, try not to ask to go to the bathroom or get a drink, for it is possible you may miss a concept. Try to ask to go during work-time. Behavioral disturbances are not acceptable because they may distract your peers.
Enter on time and prepared
For maximum learning, students should be in class prepared with the necessary materials to work efficiently and effectively. The 2nd bell signifies that class has begun…NOT the time you are supposed to “make it in the door.” Follow directions on the board and have all materials on your desk.
Always try your best
Never get discouraged in this class. You will succeed as long as you believe you can. I will be here to help you as long as you try your best!
Respect yourself and others
RESPECT EACH OTHER WITH ALL OF YOU ACTIONS AND WORDS. Regardless of the reason or purpose, refrain from touching, hitting, throwing objects or stealing from another student. Name-calling, “dissing,” insults and profanity will not be tolerated. This classroom is a positive learning environment. We are to support each other in the learning process, not discourage each other.
No excuses!
Follow all Classroom Policies and be responsible for all of your actions.
